Jayda + Malachi’s Intimate Micro-Wedding
Three years ago, I photographed my very first wedding at Marionfield Farms in Arlington, WA. I was nervous, over-prepared, and completely in my head — convinced I had to be perfect. That couple, Ellissa and Alejandro, believed in me before I even fully believed in myself. They booked me for their wedding after a simple portrait session, and without knowing it, they helped launch the dream I’m living today.
Fast forward to this spring, and I found myself pulling into that same driveway — but this time, I was calm, confident, and genuinely excited. The nerves had been replaced with gratitude.
Jayda and Malachi’s micro-wedding was everything sweet and simple. Just close family, a peaceful setting, and two people whose love felt like home. They exchanged vows in the soft golden light, with Malachi delivering the most heartfelt rhyming promises that had everyone smiling (and maybe tearing up a bit). There was a quiet peace between them — the kind that doesn’t need a big production to feel real.
As I documented their day, I couldn’t help but reflect on how much has changed. I’ve grown not just in skill, but in confidence. I know how to slow down, guide my couples gently, and be present enough to catch the little moments that matter most. And going back to the place where it all started reminded me of why I do this — to tell stories that feel like them. The raw, soft, fleeting kind.
To Jayda and Malachi: thank you for trusting me with your memories. Your day was full of grace, laughter, and love — and it was an honor to be a small part of it.
And to Marionfield Farms: thank you for being the backdrop to my beginning, and now, this full-circle moment.
